I'm trying to find some help.. I watched a great video by yourself explaining the principles of 7th chords 11th 13ths etc.. it seemed to be fine, everything made sense but I've since been taking the principles into the field and trying to create the chords i see on sheet music and I'm getting the chords wrong apparently for example "F7#11" What 'google images' says is an 'F7#11' is totally different to what I'm getting by following these simple rules outlined in your video This is exactly what I'm doing. 'Fmajor barre chord 1st fret' 'drop the 7th = F7' Add A# a.k.a the 11th.

I need your recommendation for an electric guitar, amp and effects etc. I am 55 yrs. old, 2 years ago I had a wild hair to learn guitar. I had no real musical background (Other than I love to listen to it and two years of piano at about 12-year-old). I traded several emails Bryan Sutton, and ultimately enrolled in the school of flatpick guitar at artistworks.com , I have enjoyed every moment of it. Bryan is awesome. There is one very important thing to me I see common with you and Bryan is a passion for the sound and the music. I remember this first time I finally flatpicked my way through wildwood flower, I got an inkling of what I feel you and Bryan feel every time you pick up a guitar. I've got a long way to go to get to where I wanna be (I wish I would have started this journey 40 years ago). I grew up listening to the grand ole opry with my day on AM radio, Elvis, George jones, Waylon & Willie, Merle haggard Johnny Cash, Johnny Horton. But in High School Lynyrd Skynyrd, Charley Daniels and Marshall Tucker got mixed in. And then along with that some Bob Seger, Eagles and Rolling Stones got mixed in. Dissecting the songs, I like in different genres, I think it comes down to songs with I would call some semblance of a boogie beat with bass runs. Before end this I want to Thank You Scott for your quality video lessons and insight you provide to guys like me Scott, I like your No BS approach. I'm 55 years old. My electric guitar purchase will be my first and maybe only, with what I've told you on a budget of a 1000-1500. What guitar and amp would you recommend? I really like the gibson s1 you made a video about. Thanks, Randy

Hey Scott, been a while since I gave my two cents worth. For anybody trying to wade through the mountain of crap claiming the best music lessons on the web, the package that includes all of your lessons is the best deal on or off the interweb. These are deigned to let you have some fun while you are learning, if it isn't fun, why would you do it? There is no drug in the world that ever gave me the same high I got the first time I played on stage to an audience, this was 6 months after I picked up a guitar for the first time. Holy crap, you could hear the fear in my voice, but standing there while people applauded was all it took. Hooked for life. These lessons are real world lessons, you will learn how to play real music. Plus it earned me a whole new level of cool to my two daughters, these are truly groovy music lessons. An added bonus, real lessons on other instruments that allows you to use the music IQ you learned from the guitar lessons to learn to adequately add some other instruments.

I would like to request some help and insight on your opinion and experience with the music business as far as simple gig contracts or proposals and well ...just the business end of music performance if possible ... ,maybe it's not your thing to get into outside of pure music lessons but just asking since you seem to have a goodly knowledge of the biz end of it. Hello Scott. I bought your download lessons package a while back. They are very entertaining and funny. I saw on your last free lessons trade video that apparently you like old coins. I have a few that I collected when I was a kid. They are gathering dust in one of my closets, so -if you like- I'll send them your way, as a token of appreciation for all I've learned from your video lessons. No need to send something back in return. I think you are a coffee drinker, too, so I could send you some Puertorrican coffee, also (I am Puertorrican and the Island's coffee is pretty good, though on the strong side).

A.J. from Eagledale here. Just got this 12 bar blues lesson. Been in a rut playing chords only for twenty years. Got home from work, put this on , getting it. For sure . All I can say is wow. Getting every note, and then did a slide up with my old Ernie Ballsacks, and grooved my middle finger so bad .... Fuck it, can't stop now... Damn thanks man....
Hey Scott thank you for all of your help on youtube. I'm sorry to see you not posting there anymore but I am glad you are still willing to make videos here and give people lessons. I just started playing the bass a few months ago and I have watched all of your free lessons and have learned so much already. I really appreciate what you are doing and I plan to buy your lessons soon. Thanks again Scott. You're a good guy.
