OK, time to set the record straight on this instrument. If you can play guitar already, this lesson is for you. If you can't....then pass it by. OK, since you are still reading, you must be a guitar player and you are thinking exactly what the manufacturer's have been telling you about the 6 string banjo or the "banjitar"....and that is. "If you can play guitar....you can play this and sound like a banjo player right away". WRONG. It is all B.S. There is a lot to learn about how to play this thing right and to actually make it sound like a banjo instead of a pure mess. I will teach you in an hour what others will never be able to teach you about playing the 6 string banjo over the course of their lives. The thing is, I'm a country player, I've played with many of country music's most famous artists and I play almost every instrument invented and I can tell you that nothing sounds worse than a guitar player trying to play banjo. It is just not a great match. They are 2 very different instruments. Even though the 6 string banjo is tuned exactly the same as a guitar, you can't play it like a guitar. What it boils down to, is that you WILL be able to play this with my help and it WILL sound like you're playing a banjo instead of someone grinding a banjo up in a wood chipper.
